WorkSafeBC is dedicated to promoting health and safety in workplaces across B.C. We partner with B.C. employers and workers to save lives, prevent injury, disease, and death.  When workers get sick, injured or killed on the job, we’re committed to easing the physical, financial, and psychological burden on them and their families; this is done by providing compensation and support to injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work.

We provide no-fault insurance and work diligently to sustain our workers’ compensation system for today and future generations. We’re responsible in creating and enforcing workplace occupational health and safety standards; with the purpose of making a difference to the people of British Columbia — one worker, one employer, one workplace at a time. 

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, WorkSafeBC has been actively monitoring and adjusting to the COVID-19 situation to determine how we can best support workers, providers, and employers around the province, while ensuring the safety of our own employees. We continue to follow guidance from public health officials and provide health and safety protocols and information to industries as the province moves through the phases of BC's Restart Plan - this includes providing support for the transition for COVID-19 Safety Plans to communicable disease guidance.

We are honoured to serve almost 2.3 million workers and 255,000 employers in our province. We collaborate with them to prevent injury or illness, and help employers comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and the Workers Compensation Act.
