NOTICE OF DISPOSITION
AUTO TRANSFORMER
2020-NOD-24
The City of Penticton is disposing of an 8 MVA 12,470-8,320V 3 phase 4-wire – Tie Substation 8MVA Autotransformer with switchgear including SEL-787 relays, load break switches, circuit breakers, etc. which was purchased in 2014 for $347,825.00 plus taxes. The transformer and switchgear were purchased to provide a reliable back-up supply between two electric utility distribution feeders having two different voltages (i.e. 12,470V & 8,320V). The City has recently completed its voltage conversion and this piece of equipment has now become redundant. A supply cable termination failed on one side of the autotransformer switchgear which was cleaned and recommissioned in 2018.
The auto transformer is sold as is, where is, and it is up to the successful bidder to arrange for pickup from the its current location at 285 Dawson Avenue. Please contact Shawn at 250.490.2537 or shawn.filice@penticton.ca to arrange for viewing.
