Our Parks & Engineering Division is currently recruiting self-motivated, hard-working, responsible team players for temporary full-time positions. As many of our full-time staff began work as temporary employees, this is an excellent opportunity to determine if a career in public service is for you.
We are currently seeking mature, physically fit, safety-minded individuals who enjoy the challenging weather conditions of the North Shore, and who have experience and education in the following areas:
- Sports field & turf grass maintenance management equipment operations
- Trail & related structure construction & maintenance
- Horticulture & landscape maintenance training & practical experience
- Road median irrigation & street tree/plant health care/watering
- Streets, curb & sidewalk repair & construction-Storm drainage cleaning & maintenance
- Vegetation brushing, ditching & grass cutting-Asphalt repair & maintenance
- Sewer / water-main repair, construction & maintenance
- Water quality
A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and abstract that reflects a safe driving record is required. The wage rate for these unionized positions begins at $26.64 (2015 rates).
We are looking for enthusiastic and results-oriented individuals who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a safety-conscious and strong work ethic.
