This is analytical and administrative work at the supervisory level in support of the organization’s Enterprise and Departmental Infrastructure systems and/or projects. Oversees the planning, implementation, and tracking of a specific project which has a beginning, an end and specified deliverables. Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with IT senior management and business owners; create work-plans with sequenced activities to successfully complete the project. Executes the project according to the project management plan; monitors the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project. Communicate and write reports on project status for IT management; monitor and approve budgeted project expenditures; manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures. Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within scope and budget and at the required level of quality; ensure appropriate handover to IT sustainment team; contracts are closed and project resources a released. Document lessons learned, complete project closure reports and explain reports to senior management as required. Plans, assigns, leads, supervises and reviews the work of functional and technical staff directly, conducts employee appraisals, identifies opportunities for staff development and arranges training; participates in the hiring of employees. Performs related work as required.
University degree at the Master’s level in computer science, business, public administration or a related discipline and considerable related experience at the project management or supervisory level OR, an equivalent combination of training and experience. Project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred. Breadth in IT Infrastructure and desktop hardware and software: Data centers, servers, networks, Storage, Exchange, databases, load balancers, firewalls, desktop, telephony, operating systems. Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure hardware and software lifecycle management, implementation best practices, IT service management, and quality standards. Requires the ability to: assign, supervise and review the work of team members, analyze and evaluate various data and information, develop logical solutions for assigned problems and assess the implications of proposed changes, establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, communicate effectively and in writing and to present proposals in non-technical language. Also requires skill in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio and Power Point.

Hours of work: 70 hours bi-weekly; 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM with a regular day off every two weeks.
