Program Centre Supervisor


Delta’s Parks, Recreation and Culture department is looking for dynamic, creative and well-organized individuals to work as auxiliary Program Centre Supervisors in our Community Recreation areas. 
 
The Program Centre Supervisor is the front-line supervisor for programs and drop-in services in many of Delta's facilities. In addition to supervising gymnasiums, arenas, and other program facilities, the Program Centre Supervisor is involved in preparing program plans, purchasing supplies, facility supervision, supervision of program staff, using CLASS registration software, assisting with payroll processes, evaluating programs and other administrative duties as required.
 
Delta’s Community Recreation Department excels in consistently high-quality and professional customer service.  As a part of the staff team, the incumbent will provide courteous help and support to customers and staff.  Working in consultation with a Recreation Programmer and Coordinator, the incumbent will manage issues and emergencies related to many aspects of the delivery of programs and drop-in services.  In the absence of a supervisor, the Program Centre Supervisor will take action and make decisions to manage issues and emergencies as they arise, guided by established policies and procedures and their own good judgment.  The work will also include miscellaneous projects, special events and other related duties.
 
Successful applicants will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by courses in recreation with sound related community recreation experience, strong customer service skills, proven public relations and effective communication skills.  The ideal candidate will also possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.  Experience supervising staff in a recreation setting is preferred. Certifications such as Occupational First Aid & CPR-C, BCRPA High Five, and Food Safe are considered assets, and a valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
