Recreation Programmer - Auxiliary

The Corporation of Delta is currently recruiting for auxiliary Recreation Programmers to join our Community Recreation team of professionals.
Reporting to the Recreation Coordinators, you will be responsible for promoting, leading, supervising and evaluating a wide variety of community recreation services, programs and events for all participants Delta wide.  Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and problem solving skills and abilities, combined with strong commitment to customer service excellence as well as relevant leadership and recreation supervisory experience are essential.
Duties will include organizing and coordinating special events, scheduling and evaluating staff and some facility supervision.  Candidates must be available to work daytimes, weekends and evenings.
Your education includes university graduation in recreation or a related discipline or completion of a certificate program in community recreation or a related discipline at a recognized institution supplemented by courses related to the area of assignment, and several years experience in the field of recreation services.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required.  Occupational First Aid and CPR-C, High Five and Food Safe certifications are considered assets.
