We have a very exciting new position in our recently created Transit Oriented Development Application Team (TODAT) that will focus on community transforming development proposals. Reporting to the Manager of Transportation Planning this position will be expected to lead the transportation review and approval of land development proposals with an emphasis on significant mixed-use high density projects in the City’s transit-oriented growth areas. Familiarity and experience reviewing transportation best practices for an urban transit oriented development and working within a team environment is essential.
This position calls for an experienced transportation engineer to utilize and update the city’s transportation model(s) to conduct analyses, and to interpret and document the results. The Intermediate Transportation Engineer will also review and provide direction to developers and their consultants and work closely with Legal and Planning staff within the City while supporting the City’s Strategic Transportation Plan. This position will also prepare functional designs of multi-modal transportation systems, transportation analyses, and travel demand models.
The successful candidate will possess a university degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline with specialized courses in transportation engineering, and registration as a professional engineer in the Province of British Columbia, or an equivalent amount of training and experience.  A valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent is required.
