The Capital Asset Analyst is a senior accounting position in the finance department. The position is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the tangible capital asset recording and reporting system in compliance with the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) Tangible Capital Assets (TCA) 3150. The position is responsible to maintain the asset inventory, value the assets, determine depreciation methods, follow and adjust policies and procedures as required to meet the changing legislation. The Capital Asset Analyst will provide analysis and recommendations regarding issues that may have a financial impact on the City.
Qualified candidates must have a three-year Community College or University Degree in Accounting or related field along with a minimum of three years of accounting/finance experience with Canadian GAAP. Candidates should also be familiarity with municipal accounting, PSAB standards and proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as spreadsheet, database and presentation software applications. The successful candidate must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check and hold a valid BC Class 5 Drivers License. **All required qualifications must be, where applicable, registered with the respective British Columbia organization and maintained at a current status.
