Manager of Human Resources


Do you have strong labour relations knowledge and a passion for collaboration and teamwork to achieve results?

If so, we want you to lead our Human Resources team!  This is a full time, indefinite position anticipated to begin mid June 2021.

The ideal candidate will have a focus in labour relations gained from managing in a unionized environment. The Manager of Human Resources provides strategic advice and leadership in the areas of recruitment and onboarding, labour relations, collective bargaining, employee performance management, benefits and compensation, training and development, and policy development and administration. This position is a key advisor to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and management. The successful candidate will provide direction, guidance and interpretation of the Collective Agreement, is the liaison to the union and manages the grievance and arbitration process. The Manager of Human Resources is accountable for fostering a culture of collaboration and achieving good working relations among the organization.
 
You will be an incredible match for this role if you have a degree in Management or Business with a focus in Human Resources, a minimum of five years’ experience in HR generalist leadership role and a CPHR designation is preferred. You will have working knowledge of labour relations practices, Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, WorkSafe BC regulations and collective agreement applications. It is critical to the success of this role that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong desire to problem solve.
