STREET OPERATIONS
CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN
Temporary Full Time Position (Approximately 2 Years)
The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced journeyman electrician for trades work in Street Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of traffic signals, streetlights, phone and data lines, municipal buildings and capital work.
Requirements include: minimum grade 12 or equivalent; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate; four years of experience which includes; Certificate of Electrical Apprenticeship and Electrical Trades Qualification Certificate and Electrical Field Safety Representative; Electrical Field Safety Representative designation (FSR-B); Arc Flash Awareness training; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with air endorsement and must be fit to perform work in all weather conditions. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week).
This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $38.09 per hour and an excellent benefits package. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
