Are you looking for a new and challenging leadership opportunity with a great staff? Challenge yourself and jump into an exciting new role as a Deck Supervisor with the City of Abbotsford!

This is an entry level supervisory position that will oversee the aquatic staff engaged in lifeguarding, swim instruction, special events and maintenance tasks. As the successful candidate you will assist in developing and mentoring aquatic staff by providing guidance and feedback through training and evaluation as well as ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained and work is conducted in accordance with established safety standards. Your strong communication skills and experience will help to foster good working relationships with staff and customers while ensuring the environment is a fun and safe place for everyone.

To be considered for this position you must have the following certifications:

  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • National Lifeguard (Pool Option)
  • CPR Level C with AED  - (within 1 year as per NL requirement)
  • Standard First Aid
  • Supervision Evaluation & Enhancement Auditor (SEE Auditor).

*All certifications must be current and copies must be submitted with your online application in order to be considered for the position. Recertification’s that are completed during the recruitment and selection process must be uploaded to the online portal for your application to remain in competition. During employment, it is the responsibility of the employee to ensure certifications are valid at all times.

This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $24.69 - $29.05. The shift schedule for this position is Tuesday to Saturday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm.
