Special Projects Assistant
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is seeking a Temporary Full-Time (TFT) Special Projects Assistant in Emergency Services.
Reporting to the Manager of Emergency Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting team members in their duties, as required, to meet service expectations, grant funded activities, departmental goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications include High school diploma supplemented by courses in Business Administration or Emergency Management. Minimum of two (2) years prior job-related experience including knowledge of the Emergency Program Act and Local Emergency Management Regulation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write correspondence, research and prepare reports along with the capability to make effective presentations to a variety of audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to positively contribute to a team environment are essential for this position.
POSITION DETAILS
This is a TFT (35 hours per week) Union Position starting as soon as possible through to December 31, 2023. The (2023) rate of pay is $30.55 per hour, plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits including vacation and statutory holidays.
