This is advisory and program development work in Edmonds Community Centre. The successful candidate assists in program development and evaluation and provides advice and assistance to the Arts programmer in the planning, implementation and coordination of classes; evaluates current programs, recommends changes and suggests new courses within program guidelines; acts as a resource person to staff and assists in the selection, training and evaluation of part-time instructors. Assists in general promotion of departmental activities; prepares promotional material and promotes interest and participation in programs; prepares and maintains records, reports on equipment and supply inventories for program. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications  include completion of a two year Community College course in a Fine Arts specialty including courses in teaching and some related instruction experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Sound knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, tools and materials applicable to the appropriate program area and the related teaching methods and procedures. Sound knowledge of community needs, interests and resources as they relate to the appropriate program area. Ability to assist in the development and evaluation of programs and to assist in the planning, implementation and coordination of program classes; display and teach skills and/or encourage participation and development in a program area; establish and maintain effective working and/or teaching relationships with other staff and patrons; supervise the operation of a studio or related facility and to prepare and maintain a variety of records and reports; assist in the selection, training and evaluation of part-time instructors and in the promotion of program activities. A valid Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.

This is a Temporary Part Time position until April 2, 2029.
