Water Conservation Guide for British Columbia

Posting Date: January 8, 2018
Year Published: 2018
Abstract:
This guide provides a seven-step water conservation planning process for small to mid-size communities in BC. The seven steps include:
  1. Laying the Plan’s Foundation
  2. Water System Profile
  3. Forecast Demand
  4. Set Objectives
  5. Review Options
  6. Select Measures
  7. Implementation Strategies

Each step correlates to a chapter, with step-by-step information on how to develop and run the planning process, plus an illustrative case example, and a writing checklist to assist in the preparation of a water conservation plan.  Links to the online water conservation calculator placed throughout the guide show the reader how to best use this tool to inform the planning process. Worksheets and resources in the appendices assist in the process as well. The intent is to support communities in planning for a healthy, water-wise future.
