The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a full-time term Environmental Technician. Under the Direction of the Utilities Manager or designate, the Environmental Technician is responsible for assisting with a range of activities including, but not limited to, developing field sampling programs, creating and maintaining databases, researching, editing, and preparing technical reports, assisting with coordinating and facilitating public events, development and maintenance of databases and performing technical and analytical tasks.
Requirements:
- A degree in Natural Sciences (Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geography, Natural Resource Management, Soil Science etc.), OR completion of a technical diploma in the environmental field with two years of applicable experience.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to operate, maintain, and calibrate monitoring equipment and traverse difficult terrain in all weather conditions.
