Position Overview
There is an exciting opportunity to work as an Equipment Operator IV in the Civic Construction section. Work in this role involves the safe operation, routine maintenance, and lubrication of a tandem and trailer, backhoe, loader, and roller, tandem and pup including the changing of attachments used in the construction and repair of municipal infrastructure. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
  1. Completion of secondary school or its equivalent.
  2. BC Driver's Licence - Class 1 with air brake endorsement.
  3. Minimum of 1500 hours of previous experience in the operation, servicing, and maintenance of a backhoe engaged in skilled excavation works around underground City and third-party utility infrastructure.
  4. Minimum of six months previous experience driving large mobile equipment in a municipal setting, including three months experience operating a loader.
 
Please note that this is a revised job description and is subject to agreement between the Employer and the Union.
