Mechanic Lead Hand

Join our Fleet Services team as a Mechanic Lead-Hand.  This role functions as a working mechanic that assists the Supervisor/Manager with supervising a team of mechanics and other service staff that repair and maintain a wide variety of City vehicles and heavy off-road equipment.  The Mechanic Lead-Hand functions as crew lead on operational and/or alternate shifts and supports the Supervisor with overseeing staff, work planning and service coordination as necessary during regular daily/weekly operations.  This position will work an alternate/modified shift, which can include evening work.

Qualifications

  • Trades Ticket – Heavy Duty, Automotive or Commercial Transport
  • Experience, including people management
  • Customer Service and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Responsibility and Accountability
  • Class 3 with Air Ticket Driver’s License
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspector Certificate considered an asset
