Join our dynamic team at the təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic and Community Centre, a state of the art facility designed for flexibility, accessibility, and sustainability.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Perform pool maintenance tasks such as performing pool chemistry tests, backwashing filters, vacuuming and diagnosing filtration systems for optimal pool operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness in change rooms, fitness areas, offices, and natatorium spaces through diligent janitorial tasks.
  • Enhance building security and engage with the public courteously to elevate customer experiences.
  • Collaborate within a diverse team to achieve organizational objectives across various facilities.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Courteous and effective communication with the public, groups, and facility users.
  • Demonstrate the ability to observe equipment, report malfunctions, and follow instructions.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in janitorial methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office knowledge is an asset.
  • Motivated to learn the newest methods of pool operations, with a holistic approach to building management.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Education and experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Ideal candidates will have Pool Operator 1 and 2 certifications.
  • Building Service Worker certificate preferred.
  • Possess a working knowledge of pool water filtration, heating and disinfection systems.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
Additional Information:
  • The successful candidate must be flexible to work various schedules and accept assignments at different facilities based on operational needs.
