Senior Executive – City of White Rock Community Hub Project


Temporary Full Time (approx. 4-year term)

$144,200 - $169,648 Annual Salary

Position Overview:
The city is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Executive to lead our ambitious and transformative $35 million Community Hub Initiative. This project is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a legacy facility that will serve as the heart of our community for generations to come. In line with Council Priorities, the city is embarking on planning and building a Community Hub that will become a central gathering point for our local community. The Community Hub will provide a wide range of services and resources, including consolidated City Hall space, affordable housing, a library, underground parking, retail space, daycare, and a civic plaza.

Additional options such as community recreation and cultural spaces, RCMP use, and other community amenities will also be explored.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Community Hub Project: Oversee the development of the Community Hub Plan, from stakeholder engagement to project execution.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including community members, businesses, and government entities at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Funding and Lobbying: Seek grants, lobby politicians, and secure funding for the project.


Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Post-secondary education (Diploma or Degree) in a relevant discipline such as Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Public Administration, or Business Administration.
  • Large-Scale Project Leadership: Proven experience leading large-scale, high-budget projects, preferably in public infrastructure or community development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community members, businesses, and various levels of government and First Nations.
  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Experience in strategic planning and the ability to translate long- term goals into actionable plans.
  • Government Relations and Lobbying: Experience working with municipal, provincial, and federal government entities. Proven ability to lobby for funding, secure grants, and navigate political landscapes.
  • Financial Acumen and Fundraising: Experience developing and managing large project budgets. Proven record of accomplishment in fundraising and securing funding for large projects.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience preparing and delivering presentations and reports to senior management, elected officials, and public stakeholders.
  • Emotional Intelligence and Leadership: High emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage and inspire teams. Demonstrated influential leadership style, capable of driving consensus and collaboration.
  • Relevant Sector Experience: Experience in sectors such as municipal government, urban planning, engineering, architecture, or community development.
