About our Organization:
The Archie Browning Sports Centre is a multi-use facility, which includes an ice arena, a six-sheet curling rink, lounge areas, and the Township of Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Administrative Office.
 
The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programs to choose from.
 
About the Opportunity:
The Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary Building Maintenance Worker position. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the ideal candidate will perform routine servicing and maintenance of refrigeration equipment; monitor and make necessary adjustments to brine level, flow and temperature; clean and disinfect change rooms, washrooms, activity rooms, lockers and hallways; set up rooms for functions; unload and move shipments of materials and supplies; prepare and handle various cleaning materials; undertake facility repairs; make and maintain ice using various equipment and machinery; maintain garbage disposal and re-cycling programs; maintain a high-level of cleanliness of various public rooms, offices, and equipment.
  
Our Preferred Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school graduation
  • Refrigerator Operator’s (Class 5) Certificate
  • Current and valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Clear Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector
  • 2 years related experience

 
Salary: $34.89 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits
