Position Overview
Are you interested in conducting survey work with the City of Kamloops? If so, our permanent, full-time Survey Technician I position may be a great fit for you. The Survey Technician position operates all instruments including GPS, field data recorders, electronic survey and conventional survey equipment at various locations across the City. This position collaboratively works with many different divisions in the City to support City infrastructure projects. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of a two-year course in civil engineering or drafting/survey technology.
- Six month's previous experience working on a survey crew.
- BC Driver's Licence - Class 5 or equivalent.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
Please note that this position will remain open until filled. Please note that if we do not find any qualified applicants for Survey Technician II (1295) we will consider hiring for Survey Technician I.
