SENIORS’ ACTIVITY CENTRE SHUTTLE BUS DRIVER

The West Vancouver Community Services Department has an immediate opening for casual Shuttle Bus Drivers. The Shuttle Bus Driver’s position is responsible for driving a set route based on a schedule and picking up and dropping off of passengers who are seniors. The Shuttle Bus Driver must demonstrate superior communication skills to deal effectively with the passengers who may need assistance loading and unloading onto the bus, or assistance with walkers and/or parcels.

The preferred candidates will possess: some experience and a desire to work with seniors; good communication and problem solving skills; good customer service skills; strong organizational and time management skills.

Applications will be accepted from those with a minimum Class 4 unrestricted Driver’s Licence, exemplary driving record, proven experience in customer service, and who are adaptable to a flexible work schedule. First Aid certification will be considered an asset. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to provide a current Driver’s Abstract.

The successful candidates will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Position Status:
WVMEA (Union) – Casual

Hours of Work:
Up to 20 hours per week. Hours and days of work may vary depending on operational requirements.

Starting Rate of Pay:
$22.12 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits.
This position has a pay structure with 3 Steps which increases based on hours worked.
