Surrey Police Service (SPS) is Surrey’s new municipal police agency. The transition from the RCMP to SPS is well underway and SPS has spent the past three years building a local, modern, accountable police service for Surrey residents. On November 29, 2024, SPS will become the police of jurisdiction, assuming responsibility for policing and law enforcement in Surrey.

About the Role
SPS has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Analyst 2 to join their Support Services Bureau. Performing a critical role in the development and sustainment of their IT infrastructure, the successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT Systems essential to maintain the integrity of enterprise systems and the data that resides on them. They will focus on virtualization & provisioning, storage systems management, end-point management, audio visual solutions, and other infrastructure applications. In addition, the incumbent will work with business units, various IT teams, and vendors to maintain overall Infrastructure health and deployments in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.

Reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager, the incumbent will handle and resolve infrastructure issues such as hardware failures, network outages, and system errors. They will support IT teams and end-users, participate in system upgrades and improvements, and maintain systems software in line with IT standards. The role involves collaborating with business units, IT staff, and vendors to implement new systems and address issues in existing ones. Responsibilities also include developing and maintaining documentation, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement, optimizing system performance, enforcing security measures, conducting routine audits, and developing maintenance procedures.

The successful candidate will be highly organized and solutions-focused with an ability to think critically and efficiently. They will thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment with an ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with users, team members, and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field by a recognized institution plus two (2) years related experience or, an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates with experience with VMware, Microsoft SCCM, Azure, Cisco UCS, Netapp products, Active Directory (AD), Azure Active Directory (AAD) including administration of Group Policies are preferred.

This position is unionized represented by CUPE Local 402. The salary range for this position is $47.52 - $53.84/hour (pay grade 27) based on 2024 Rates.
