About this Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Manager of Early Years, the After School Program Supervisor is responsible for providing safe, age appropriate and engaging programming for children ages 5 – 11 during after school hours, and breaks in the school schedule such as professional development days, spring, summer and winter breaks. This position oversees the day-to-day operations of the after school and summer camp programs including providing guidance and direction to program staff and ensuring alignment with Interior Health Authority Child Care licensing regulations. Flexible scheduling is a requirement of this position.

  • Coordinate the planning, delivery and implementation of after school and other programming (spring/summer/winter breaks, professional development days…) in accordance with Interior Health Authority Child Care licensing policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Provide a program that includes a variety of activities aimed at engaging children in a fun and positive experience
  • Work collaboratively with Human Resources and the Manager of Early Years to recruit and mentor staff
  • Schedule staff ensuring licensing ratios are maintained
  • Oversee the performance management of assigned staff
  • Verify and approve timesheets
  • Supervise children while promoting a culture of safety, respect, conflict resolution and leadership


Must Haves:

  • 19+ years of age, as per licensing requirements
  • Food Safe certification
  • Emergency Childcare First Aid with CPR certification
  • Compliance with all Licensing Requirements, including Tuberculosis Control Program
  • Valid Driver’s License (class 4) or the ability to attain one, with acceptable Driver’s Abstract
  • Acceptable Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required
