Information Systems Analyst

The Town of Qualicum Beach is in search of a dynamic and highly motivated individual for the permanent full-time position of Information Systems Analyst. Reporting to and working closely with the Manager of IT & GIS, the role supports the management and implementation of IT/GIS related solutions based on requirements and business needs.
Duties will include:
- Utilizing business information to manage everyday operations and generating innovative solutions to approach business and administrative challenges.
- Implementing automated dashboards/reports using Power BI, ArcGIS Experience Builder, or ArcGIS Dashboard to support business strategies and plans.
- Automating data integration and transformation between information systems and data sources received externally/internally using FME Form/Flow, python, and/or SQL scripts.
- Managing projects of implementation of migration of IT/GIS solutions such as the migration of public/internal web GIS solutions from MapGuide to ArcGIS Enterprise or VertiGIS Studio based solutions.
- Experience with asset management and developing and leading municipal IT/GIS enabled applications for municipal asset management.
- Providing advice and training to users on effective and efficient use of the various IT/GIS solutions the Town employs.
- Queries and designs SQL Server and Enterprise Geodatabase tables and views to meet business needs.
- Assists IT/GIS consultants and Manager of IT & GIS with IT & GIS projects/tasks.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications, skills and abilities include:
- Degree or advanced diploma in GIS/MIS/IT/Information Management/Computer Sciences.
- Knowledge of performing municipal geographic data maintenance/analyses using ArcGIS Pro.
- Knowledge of analytical skills, including ability to resolve complex information systems related issues and data, and analyses.
- Knowledge of business intelligent report or dashboard software similar to Power BI, ArcGIS Experience Builder, or ArcGIS Dashboard.
- Knowledge of:
- SQL/T-SQL and/or SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). FME Form or FME Flow.
- ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
- ArcGIS Survey123, ArcGIS Field Maps, and Trimble Catalyst.
Preferred assets:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and VertiGIS Studio Web and Workflow.
- Knowledge of asset management information systems/software; engineering utility record drawings/as-builts; programming/Map APIs/restful services and Generative AI/Machine Learning.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and/or Microsoft Teams.
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge will be considered if deemed acceptable by the Employer.
The terms and conditions of employment are covered by the CUPE Local 401 Collective Agreement. The rate of pay will be $48.72 per hour (effective July 1, 2024).
