Arena Attendant 2

Fulltime / Full Benefit Position

Under the direction and supervision of the Recreation Facility Supervisor, the Arena Attendant 2 maintains the daily operation of the Princeton Arena and refrigeration plant, as well as other recreation facilities in the off season.

This position is responsible for the maintenance and safe operations of the facilities while on duty. The employee will liaise with the Supervisor on a regular basis to ensure that the desired goals and objectives are prioritized in a way that effectively serve the needs of the community and user groups.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Must be a self-starter who demonstrates initiative in the performance of the general duties.
  2. Must have a thorough working knowledge of building maintenance, ice resurfacing and refrigeration plant operations.
  3. The ability to perform semi-skilled minor mechanical, building and electrical repairs is essential.
  4. The ability to exercise courtesy and tact in dealing with user groups and the general public are required at all times with a desire for the pursuit of excellence of service.


Required Qualifications

  1. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in Ice Arenas or related field.
  2. Must have a B.C. Refrigeration Operation Certificate or a B.C. Ice Facility Operator Certificate.
  3. Must have a valid Class 5 drivers’ license.
  4. Must have Grade 12.
  5. Completed a current criminal records check.
  6. Experience working in a municipal and or general construction setting.
  7. Practices safe working procedures as related to equipment operation. Good physical condition with sufficient strength and stamina to perform manual work.
  8. Ability to exercise courtesy and tact in dealing with other Town staff and members of the public.
  9. Good communication skills with the ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.

 
This position is within the CUPE Local 608 Collective Bargaining Unit and offers a competitive wage ($33.78 per Hour) and benefit package.
