Our Community Safety department at the Burnaby RCMP is looking for Junior File Clerks to join their growing team. If you are interested in administrative work while making a difference in the community, this position is for you! You will provide a friendly face to visitors who come in and assist with your excellent customer service. You will perform several administrative tasks such as filling forms, finding documents, and sorting through material. Responsibilities for this position include escorting contractors and visitors to the Detachment; learning office tasks and the operation of related office equipment in a policing environment; working independently; maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of people; and maintaining simple records. Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications include up to high school graduation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. As the work entails filing, locating, sorting, and copying both hardcopy and electronic material, you should be organized, methodical, and accurate. You must be able to perform work according to clearly defined methods and procedures, and can work well independently or under the supervision and instruction of a supervisor. You’re not afraid to show your personality when escorting people to the Detachment by making them feel welcome and comfortable, while also being able to project a professional and courteous demeanor. This is a terrific opportunity for those who want to take their skills and apply them at the Burnaby RCMP. Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.

Auxiliary assignments are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts. For this position, we are looking for candidates with availability to work 1-2 shifts per week.
