Insurance Services Representative and Broker

The MIABC is looking for two energetic, motivated, and career-minded insurance professionals to provide professional and technical service to our local government members. We are a member-owned non-profit insurance reciprocal that provides liability coverage to over 170 local governments in British Columbia, and property and ancillary coverage to over half of our members. 
 
Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing quotes to members and potential members on their liability, property and ancillary insurance needs;
  • Underwriting property coverage and marketing ancillary coverage;
  • Answering queries on coverage needs and policy wordings;
  • Assisting in the preparation of requests for proposals and developing new insurance products;
  • Preparing binders and binding coverage for new and renewal policies; and
  • Working with our Claims team to ensure the progress of property claims and provide updates to members.

 
Preferred qualifications include:

  • 5 to 7 years of Commercial insurance experience;
  • Level 2 BC Insurance License mandatory;
  • Broad knowledge of insurance for local governments;
  • An insurance designation (e.g., CAIB, CIP or CRM);
  • MGA/underwriting experience
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Analytical skills; and
  • Superior attention to detail and accuracy.

Status: Permanent full-time
Pay Range: $70,528 - $88,160 depending on experience.
