Utility Maintenance Worker

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
We are looking for a team player committed to maintaining NVRC’s facilities in order to provide excellent experiences for our customers. You will perform operational and building service work on an assigned shift in a recreation facility. You will operate refrigeration, ice-making and resurfacing equipment; and swimming pool chlorination and filtration equipment. This includes ice resurfacer operation, a variety of minor maintenance repair tasks and routine janitorial duties.

ABOUT YOU
You are courteous and effective with customers. You have working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in building maintenance and janitorial work; the ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled building maintenance and minor repair tasks, and to perform routine janitorial duties; the ability to work under minimal supervision, to ensure that janitorial tasks are completed; the ability to prepare and maintain a variety of records related to the work; and skill in the use and care of equipment used in the work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
You have completed Grade 10, supplemented by technical training related to the work plus related experience or have an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A valid class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and a B.C. Refrigeration Operator Certificate are required. Pool Operator 1 & 2 certification or equivalent is an asset.

This is a regular full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week including weekends, days or evenings based on operational needs. The pay range for this unionized position is $28.85 to $33.86 per hour.

All employees should be available to work at any North Vancouver Recreation & Culture location and are required to submit a Police Record Check as a requirement of the position prior to any appointment.
