The District of Kent is offering an exciting opportunity in our Recreation, Culture & Projects Department for a Fitness & Health Instructor 1. Incumbents in this auxiliary position will act as the Lead Instructor for general group fitness & health classes as assigned and in accordance with the seasonal fitness schedule. These key individuals will plan, organize, and deliver lesson plans/fitness curriculum in conjunction with the Recreation Programmer or Designate.
Program & Event Examples: Keep Fit, Get Fit, Dance Fit, Circuit, Weightroom Orientations, Demonstration and “Try It” sessions at Community Health Fairs, Move for Health Day, Senior Events.
 
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience instructing fitness classes or a combination of related education, training, and work experience instructing fitness classes.
  • Current fitness certification and continuing education with recognized fitness institution/ association.
  • Required Certifications: Group Fitness Training with an accredited institution such as BCRPA, CanfitPro, CFES or YMCA.


Upon successful completion of the required probationary period, the wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $28.07 per hour plus 14.0% in lieu of benefits. For more information about the District of Kent please visit our website at www.kentbc.ca.
