Restorative justice program launches in Squamish

Abstract:
Squamish is now home to a restorative justice pilot project in partnership with North Shore Restorative Justice. Sioned Dyer, executive director, noted that restorative justice has its roots in Indigenous communities "that have and continue to practice community responses to crime and conflict. That is a really important thing to note." She added that it can support historically marginalized groups who have been disproportionately represented in the traditional justice system.
