Surrey awards contract for Indigenous carving centre

Abstract:
The city announced it has awarded the contract for the construction of the South Surrey Indigenous Carving Centre. Work on the project is scheduled to begin early next month with substantial completion expected this August. Funding for the project got the green light as part of the city’s 2021-2025 Five Year Capital Plan, with additional support of a $400,000 grant from Heritage BC and a $20,000 grant from the Friends of the Surrey Museum and Archives Society.
