Tk’emlúps Bid for 2027 North American Indigenous Games could get Cash Boost

Abstract:

As part of the bid process, a selection committee will be visiting Tk’emlúps and Kamloops from April 21 to 23. To assist with costs associated with hosting committee members, the band has asked the municipality to co-fund the site visit in the amount of $10,000, which will pay for flights, ground transportation and special event expenses, according to a city staff report.

City staff is recommending council approve the funding, to come from the municipality’s community and protective services, Tournament Capital services special bids budget. Council will make a decision on Jan. 31.
