Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight)

This is clerical work of some variety and moderate complexity in processing requests for information and police reports for insurance and legal purposes. An incumbent will search files, select the appropriate information and ensures compliance to legislative acts on release of information, bills requester for copies of police reports, receives and acknowledges payment and forwards to Finance Department. Prepares and maintains a variety of files, forms, receipts, monthly billings, statistics, reports and other material manually or using a computer terminal; operates PRIME computer terminal; prepares routine correspondence related to the work performed. An Insurance Clerk provides information to a variety of internal and external contacts related to the work performed; exchanges information with a wide variety of external law enforcement and related agencies. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications include Completion of Grade 12 including or supplemented by commercial courses, plus sound related experience preferably in a police department, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Considerable knowledge of the functions, policies, and procedures governing the operations of the detachment as related to the work performed. Sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in assessing information from PRIME and CPIC. Ability to deal effectively with internal and external contacts and to apply sound judgment in providing assistance and explaining specific rules, regulations and procedures. Ability to operate CPIC and PRIME computer terminals and related equipment. Ability to work under general supervision. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
